This project focuses on experimenting with letterform structure and creating a conceptual typeface. A new typeface will be developed through research into lettering principles and inspired by the characteristics of a natural object. The design must translate abstract qualities of the object into strong visual forms, emphasizing symbolism, hierarchy, and complex composition. The final typeface should be original, meaningful, visually striking, and function effectively as an alphabet Hypothetical type foundry being Adobe.
Nectar is a typeface inspired by the beauty and grace of our lovely hummingbirds. Each letterform balances lightness and agility, with soft curves and precise, fast strokes that echo the swift motion of wings in flight. The design features subtle organic details — gentle tapers, flowing terminals, and slight variations in weight — to create a sense of natural rhythm and movement
